Dungan Nequette Interiors: We wanted to create a throw-back house but with all the modern day bells and whistles. The idea of a house that was only “one rood deep” so that light came in on two or three sides resulted in a great courtyard surrounded by structure. The interiors became a study in wood detailing when we decided to have no sheetrock in the whole house, the garage is even all wood. One delightful zinger occurred at the tower stairwell, where we took a break from all the wood and designed a series of custom steel panels. This house is one where you just wonder through it, the light comes at you from unexpected places, almost barn-like. There are many objects and forms that begin to define multiple cozy spaces.
