A mid-century modern home located in a quiet neighborhood complete with a sprawling green back yard, this house looks like many others nearby, but here, a sunroom creates a light-filled space where an old, dark corner used to be, providing the homeowners' with their new 'favorite space'. Oak floors and trim extend from the existing to maintain continuity without an obvious sign of the addition. Materials are used minimally maintaining the overall integrity of finish level. An existing narrow dining space created some challenges with flow, which was addressed by designing a custom table and bench. It allows more room to move around as well as providing seating for 10. The space is honoring the old style while improving functionality; minimal yet warm, clean yet expressive, bringing this mid-century up to date
