2010 NKBA Design Competition - Medium Kitchen: Second Place

Through the incorporation of stainless steel, walnut, and textured platinum gray paneling, this kitchen adds drama for its homeowners-restaurant owners with sophisticated preferences. A hidden walk-in pantry coupled with floating shelves, a circular island-based sink station, and glass block placed along the eating area offer unique touches. Walnut floating shelves tie into the warm bold tones of the flooring. Unique lighting set against reflective stainless backdrops, textured glass block, and glossy lacquered finishes brings an overall cohesion to a high-functioning kitchen. A built-in fireplace set high on one wall and a coffee station flanked by refrigerator and freezer tucked around a corner provides restaurant style and convenience.
