2010 NKAB Design Competition - Specialty Room: First Place

A careful blend of comfort and class was achieved by the designer of this guest house entertainment area. Natural stone walls paired with fir cabinetry set the tone of the space as rustic yet sophisticated. Grigio Smoked counters with seating for six allows for spacious entertaining in a home-away-from-home environment. The level of detail is apparent in items such as the firebox, built-in bench, drink ledge, and additional wine storage incorporated into the stone wall. Undercounter wine refrigeration, a refrigerator and freezer, microwave, dishwasher drawer, and sink are all conveniently accessible to keep guest and family close. The insightful collaboration of ideas between architect and client resulted in a wonderfully warm and highly functional guest space.
