Elegant Contemporary Bedroom by Gail Shields-Miller

The dramatic master bedroom suite envelops those who enter. Warmth and whimsy is provided by shimmering, modern European floral wallpaper, and over- scaled, upholstered furnishings. Sitting on top of the pair of Shields and Company Asian- style nightstands are matching Vintage Italian light fixtures with silvery shades. Recess lighting resembling water droplets surrounds the perimeter of the room, scattering light on a black lacquered vintage dresser from the 40's. A copper leather screen from the 1930's completes one corner of the space and echoes its right of place though its exquisite carved detailing of New York City sights. At the foot of the custom bed, is a one- of-a-kind bench designed by Shields and Company; it is upholstered in a colorful modern kilim-like fabric that gives the room additional design pizzazz. Crowning the space is a unique Denis Collura chandelier, custom made with colored glass and nickel and finished with an undulating fabric shade.
