Homey Transitional Kid's Room by Lindsay Brier

The inspiration for the orange came from her husband Hank (it is his favorite color). Lindsay's vision was to create a fresh but also a calming space. She tried to achieve this by having some modern pieces but warming it up with some vintage finds. She wanted it to be fun but not overly "babyish". To this end, none of the furnishings in the room besides the crib are from children or baby furniture collections. Her philosophy is that rooms should be able to easily grow with children. Her favorite aspect of the room is the striped walls, which are playful without being overbearing, and guide your eye around the room. Lindsay added vintage pieces to the room to give it depth and soul: she found a circa 1950 tin wastebasket and orange vintage toys that were perfect accessories for the room. Also, Lindsay is a huge fan of using washable outdoor fabrics in kids' rooms. The glider in Hawken's room is upholstered in a Perennials outdoor fabric. You'd never know it, it's soft and looks like a velvet mohair. The dog pillow and crib bedding is from Serena and Lily.

Eco Friendly items: The rug is a natural seagrass, all natural, non toxic fabrics used throughout the room, the paint is Aura (Benjamin Moore) non voc paint, many of the items (toys, lacrosse stick, wastebasket) are vintage (Eco-Freindly).
