Light Contemporary Bathroom by Elizabeth Rosensteel
2010 NKBA Design Competition - Large Bathroom: Second Place
Paying homage to the architecture of the home and capitalizing on the views of the mountainous desert area in which it sits, this open bathroom space was created with a pleasing overall asymmetry that provides a customized retreat for the homeowners. Two personalized vanity areas and a simplistic yet spacious tub, as well as a generous spa shower with countertops that pass through the glass walls, contribute to the uniquely contemporary design. The distinctive use of space and partial walls of varying heights provides the necessary privacy without resorting to the use of doors. Cabinets that hang suspended over the floor and asymmetric door and drawer panels in the wall storage cabinets collaborate in the artistic composition of this stunning contemporary bathroom.
