Dramatic Country/Rustic Foyer by Traci Kearns

We wanted high contrast with the dark floors which are stained oak. The walls and stairs are all cypress. The architect designed this area and we were more incolved with finishes and selections of materials. The handrail and staircase are all custom designed and built by local craftspeople from Asheville. The concept for the stairs and the slat wall system was to allow light to pass through and have a sense of illumination and glowing for the entry way. The stair railings are steel and the wood treads are stained dark like the floor.
