The client was very clear and wanted to reuse and repurpose as many items as possible. With that said, we kept the existing wood flooring which was still in excellent condition along with keeping the existing crib, rocker, and ottoman she already owned and had previously used with her two eldest. We simply reupholstered the crib bumper and the rocker/ottoman's cushions. For the crib bumper, we used a Schumacher Valley Twill which is 100% Certified Organic Cotton and the skirt fabric was from the Robert Allen "Pure style" Eco-friendly fabric collection and is made of 100% organic cotton that was also used on the window treatments. We made sure the window treatments were backed with a 100% cotton black out lining to not only help with the newborn's naps during the day, but also help with energy efficiency. The sheets, made of 100% organic cotton, along with the drapery hardware, side table, and lamp were all purchased from local businesses here in Nashville. The paint used was from Benjamin Moore's "Natura" Collection which is a low odor, zero VOC paint/primer. Finally, we used Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs in our fixtures.
