The owners of this patio in Washington state say they like to grill year-round, so they invested in an outdoor entertaining area with all the bells and whistles. The patio features a double-sided, self-venting gas fireplace, a wood-burning pizza oven and a fully equipped gas grill. A large tongue-and-groove cedar roof covers much of the patio area, protecting the homeowners — and their outdoor kitchen — from the rain.

The couple this backyard in New Mexico belongs to were inspired by the vibrant ambience of Mexico, and incorporated that theme into their space.
The outdoor room features woven furniture, which the couple chose to mimic the look of a traditional interior dining room. The shade sail overhead offers protection from the sun, the fountain on the left provides the soothing sounds of water, and the terra-cotta-colored feature wall displays a vertical garden of succulents.
