For the past 10 years, the Las Vegas Market has been one of the most comprehensive home trade shows and markets in the western United States. Featuring a cross section of more than 2,200 wholesale resources, it is the go-to place for home design professionals to find all things for the home, from standout furniture to boutique-style gifts. While it’s open exclusively to registered members of home furnishings, gift and design trades, this market is a breeding grounds for decor trends you’re likely to see trickle down into homes for months to come. Here’s a sneak peak at what the show is like.

What You’ll Find

The World Market Center Campus, in downtown Las Vegas, is a series of three interconnected buildings. Inside, attendees will find 40 floors of furniture, bedding, mattresses, lighting, floor coverings, housewares, textiles, lifestyle products, art and gifts for the home.

With these kinds of displays, attendees are able to engage with individual products, touching, sampling and getting an overall sense of how these items will function in their clients’ households.

The market features more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, who introduce new products each year. This is how industry professionals — everyone from your favorite home furnishings retailer to your interior designer — get ahead of current trends and start coming up with fresh ideas for their clientele.

Buyers from popular shops such as Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Target, Bloomingdale’s, Pier 1 Imports and Anthropologie will all get a jump start in Las Vegas.

As for art and decor for the household — all those details homeowners love so much — the market will showcase a bit of everything: art, bed and bath, florals, tabletop accents, pottery, vases and wall decor.

The market also features staple and accent furniture pieces in various styles and fabrics, with many cultural influences. In fact, this year there will be more than 75 international designers presenting in one of the many home furnishings showrooms.

New This Year

In mid-July, market organizers announced the official launch of “Casual,” a two-story exhibition of all things related to the outdoors, including furniture, umbrellas, rugs and even fireplaces. “We’ve seen a significant increase among indoor retailers entering the outdoors market,” says Craig Staack, vice president of home furnishings leasing for International Market Centers. With consumers mixing and matching their indoor and outdoor decor and furnishings, it makes sense to have both categories available at the largest wholesale market in the West.
