It there’s anything as inevitable as death and taxes, it’s trash. Where you find people, there you will find garbage, recyclables and yard waste waiting patiently to be taken out to the curb. The family who owns this Santa Barbara, California, art studio–shed worked with designer Alex Wyndham to create built-in storage for waste and recyclables at one side. A sliding panel closes to keep it out of sight.
This trash enclosure, by West Hartford Fence, hides large trash and recycling bins behind sedate lattice doors.
Outdoor space is limited around this downtown Atlanta home, so the owners asked Personal Touch Lawn Care to build this trash enclosure to keep the bins out of sight. The location, near a driveway that leads to the curb, makes life easier on trash day.
The same could be said for this enclosure, by Satori Garden Design. Its being painted the same shade as the house makes it blend in.
But not every trash enclosure needs to make a quiet statement. The woven metal door on this example, by Debora Carl Landscape Design, is something of a sculptural element in the yard.
