Survey Results: Kitchen Trends That Seem Here to Stay
Kitchens are about so much more than just cooking food. These central hubs in our homes are where we often eat, help our kids do homework, entertain, organize schedules and even watch TV. So it’s no surprise to learn that homeowners are always eager to make the most of their kitchens. And in Houzz’s latest kitchen trends survey, more than a third of the 3,500 respondents said they finally have the means to update their kitchen.
Considering that 41 percent said the last time their kitchen was remodeled was more than 15 years ago, homeowners are looking to modern conveniences like pullout shelves and high-quality appliances to update their spaces, according to the survey. But they are focusing on looks too. Nearly 60 percent of respondents said that style and beauty are driving their design choices. The majority of their selections are following style trends that have been going strong for years. White, Shaker-style cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and open concepts still reign supreme.
