Guest Picks: Get Antiques-Fair Style Right From Home
When September comes into view, I have to admit I get a bit excited — OK, a lot excited. Not only am I relieved that the summer heat is on its way out, but I’m also superpumped about Antique Weekend, in and around Round Top, Texas! It’s the biggest antiques show in the galaxy, and yet it takes place in and around the smallest incorporated town in Texas. (Disclaimer: It might not actually be the biggest in the galaxy, but I’m in Texas, so by law I am required to call it the biggest — it’s just how we roll).
Round Top, Texas, is the home of the Junk Gypsies, Royers Café (think luscious pies), Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic Couture Store and Cedar Hill Farmhouse (my family farm and the namesake for my blog). This event is big — and I mean big. It stretches on for miles, and events take place not only along state highway 237, but also in many towns within a 10-mile radius. It’s definitely an event worth attending, but for those of you who can’t make it this year, I’ve curated a Round Top–style collection of items that you can buy online. — Anita from Cedar Hill Farmhouse

Bon Appetit Napkins, Set of 4 - $79Paper napkins just seem ho-hum after you spy these cute little numbers.
Vintage-Style Scale Clock - $69.56Is it a clock or a scale? My vote is a new clock made to look like a vintage scale — very clever.
Go Home Vintage Sack Ottoman - $127I am of the “you can’t have too many ottomans” camp. You can use them for extra seating or as a place to put your feet on; or put a tray on one and use it like a coffee table. This one is small, so it will fit in tight spots.Buy on Houzz

Route 66 Rusty Vintage Metal Sign Street Sign - $25.95Route 66 is such a symbol of America, especially old-time America. My dad worked for Phillips 66 during my entire childhood, so this sign brings back lots of fond memories for me.
Galvanized Rusty Metal Pendant With Rope - $225Rust and rope are common themes at Round Top. This pendant lamp goes with both farmhouse and industrial styles.
Grain Sack Printed Feedsack Pillow - $24I’m not sure what it is about grain sacks, but I just can’t get enough of them!Buy on Houzz
Vintage Authentic Grain Sack Pillow Cover by Medreana - $50Vintage fabrics fascinate me, especially if the fabric is from vintage grain sacks. Grain sacks were used to hold grains for families, and each family had their own pattern to identify whose grain belonged to whom — kind of like how each family in Scotland has its own tartan. The fabric is often very soft and durable.
