I have always wanted a reading nook. A place where I can relax, read my favorite book, cuddle up with my blanket, drink a cup of tea and just enjoy having a sanctuary. This ideabook has all of the things I would want to include in my reading nook (especially a pair of curtains that I could close to really create a mini getaway oasis). Enjoy! — Melissa from Chic Coles
‘Getaway’ Print - $199Whenever I dive into a book, it really is a getaway for me. I’d place this photograph on the wall in my reading nook and really enjoy my mini getaway.
Seeing Stars Wall Decals, Set of 50 - $39Add a bit of whimsy to your walls with these star decals. Paired with the “Getaway” artwork, they make for quite a dreamy reading nook.
LED String Lights, Warm White - $19.50Turn your nook into an oasis with some twinkle lights. These will set a serene and calm mood.
Natural Quartz Bookends - $590I love the color of these natural quartz bookends. They would look great in a bookcase and keep all the books you will be reading in order.
Liatorp Bookcase, White - $330Use an open-shelf bookcase for storage. I like the idea of building in a bench between two of them.
Ryland Modular Banquette Storage Bench - $299Make sure you have ample storage in your reading nook. This bench has cubbies for throw pillows, extra blankets and, of course, books!
Bench Cushion, Natural - $69.95You’ll want a cushion that fits the bench too. Make sure it is extra comfortable!
Savannah Utility Basket - $19Keep everything organized in your shelves with baskets. I love the idea of using a reading nook as a place to do needlepoint or crochet as well.
Meilleur Wall Sconce, Polished Nickel - $162.80Just looking at this sconce makes me think of a quaint reading nook. While you might want the lighting to be soft and inviting, you also want to make sure it’s bright enough for reading.Buy on Houzz
Capiz Shell Flower Pendant Light - $225To add additional lighting, add a chandelier — and keep it neutral.
Linen Sheer Drape, Gray - $59Light and airy curtains are perfect for a reading nook. I love the idea that you can close them and make your nook into a little retreat that’s separate from the rest of the house.
Softest Blanket and Throw - $49This is the coziest blanket out there! I would love to snuggle up under it while reading a good book.
La Fiorentina Pillow, Gray and Ivory - $79Keep the pillows soft and muted to continue the feeling of serenity throughout the space.
Breakfast In Bed Tray - $79There really isn’t anything better than having a snack while reading a favorite book. Use a breakfast tray to corral everything, because there’s nothing worse than having to balance coffee cups, plates and silverware.
Martini Side Table, White - $149Place this side table next to your bench as an extra surface for snacks and other little things.
Acid Etched Letter - $12Spell out the word “read” on the wall for a fun touch.
Lulu Candle - $22A large candle with a lovely design is just what you’ll need to create tranquility in your reading nook.
Small Fenton Hobnail Milk Glass Vase With White Ruffled Rim - $23This is such a cute vase. Tuck it into a bookcase and fill it with a pink flower for a bit of color or keep it neutral with a white one.
Souk Wool Rug - $179I just love the geometric pattern on this rug, and that it’s in neutral colors.
Hypoallergenic BedLounge - $153.99Who could forget the “boyfriend” reading pillow? You can’t have a reading nook without the proper support to make your experience perfectly comfortable.
