If I think back 15 years to my very first apartment, the sheer enormity of nothing in my cupboards would take my foodie breath away. Two plates, two bowls, four cups, a handful of silverware, a skillet, one pot and — well, that was about it.
Part of the reason I had such a sparse kitchen was because I didn’t need much; it was just me (and my cat). I also had no idea what I needed, because I wasn’t much of a cook at the time. A list like this would have been helpful to my twentysomething self! — Liza from (a)Musing Foodie
