I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Curtains are the hardest home decor item to shop for. While recently looking around for dining room curtains, I found that there were mostly two common curtain themes: old-fashioned and affordable, or stylish and break-the-bank expensive. After searching some more, I was able to find stylish and affordable options. Here are 20 of my favorites. — Ashley from 7th House on the Left
Plum & Bow Forest Critter Curtain - $59 The design on this colorful modern curtain is as pretty as a painting. The artistic, organic design would look lovely in a room with clean lines.
Citrus Ikat Curtain - $39.99 Ikat is still all the rage these days, and it comes in a wide variety of styles and colors. This bold citrus design is eye catching and fun.
Assembly Home Plus Sign Curtain - $39 This modern black and white curtain really makes a statement without being too busy.
Cotton Canvas Bold Stripe Curtain, Slate - $39 These bold stripes printed on cotton canvas have a classic, casual and contemporary feel and would work with a variety of decor styles.
Cotton Canvas Printed Curtain, Etched Grid - $29 I just purchased this curtain for the guest bedroom, which has very colorful bedding. The subtle organic design is perfect for balancing out the colors and adding interest without taking away from the bedding.
Threshold Climbing Vine Window Panel, Blue - $24.99 This panel was a frontrunner for my dining room, but I didn’t want to cover up the beautiful design on the bottom with the table. It’s a wonderful modern take on a floral design.
Ikat Ogee Linen Curtain, Ivory/Platinum - $69 This toned-down version of the traditional ikat would be so soothing in a bedroom or a cozy living room.
Curtain Panels, Light Pink, Set of 2 - $24.95 How precious would these blush pink curtains be in a nursery or a little girl’s room? The subtle organic chevron design is a nice modern touch and isn’t too fussy.
Curtain, Taupe - $17.95 This curtain is actually a gray-brown and white photograph of reclaimed wood printed on cotton fabric. It would be perfect in a room with a modern rustic aesthetic.
Gold and Teal Aberdeen Curtain - $34.99 Yet another ikat selection! The bold teal, gold and green colors in this design really make a statement; it would be great in a room that needs a focal point.
Threshold Ombré Stripe Window Panel, Gray - $24.99 The soft graduation of gray hues on this affordable curtain would work in almost any decor setting.
Lulu Curtain Panel - $129 This midcentury-inspired design looks lovely in the neutral yellow color. It’s printed on textured cotton, which makes the panel even more stunning and expensive looking but won’t break the bank.
Threshold Fretwork Border Window Panel, Tan/Coral - $24.99 I’ve spotted this curtain panel on at least four TV-show sets. The touch of color at the bottom brings in personality without being too busy or overwhelming.
Magical Thinking Moroccan Tile Curtain, Blue - $39 I love the cascading geometric pattern on this panel. The look is more like artwork than just another curtain design.
Ikat Black Printed Cotton Curtain - $99 This curtain is a great mix of modern and traditional. It would be lovely in a formal dining or living room.
Blue Chambray Saree Curtain - $34.99 This curtain was made in India from recycled sari materials. How’s that for a conversation starter?
Miller Curtains Simsbury Collection Panel, Chocolate - $46 This isn’t like the floral drapes of the past. This graphic flower pattern is a nice modern touch for an otherwise old-fashioned decorating concept.
Alston Slate Curtain Panel - $89.95 Bold horizontal stripes never seem to go out of style. They’re fun and classic all at the same time.
Bella Porte Citrine Curtain Panel I call this color “grellow,” but the official name is citrine. I think this curtain would be gorgeous against a moody gray wall.
Shelby Drape, Gray - $109 I think this curtain has the best of both worlds: It’s safe and still a bit fun. It would look wonderful in a traditional or even midcentury modern setting.
