Houzz engineers have again brought technology and home design together in a radical new way. Announcing HouzzPrintz, a new three-dimensional printing feature that allows you to print furniture and accessories at home — directly from the photos you see on Houzz. This feature begins rolling out today.
Rick Spence, vice president of 3-D Marketing at Houzz, calls it “a groundbreaking innovation in home design.”
For the cost of materials, you can now own that iconic chair, table or bed you’ve always dreamed of having in your home.
HouzzPrintz is one of the first commercially available applications for 3-D printing, a technology still in its infancy. Just browse the Houzz website or app for furniture you’d like to print, then click 3D Print Photo.
Highlight the item or items in the photo, then customize. HouzzPrintz currently offers a limited selection of finishes and materials, with more to come later this year.
Finally, choose your size. Want to turn that Swan Chair into a chic cat bed? Choose the small size. Perhaps you love its clean midcentury design but would prefer it as an overstuffed chair and a half? Choose the large. With five size options, you’ll be able to create something for everyone.
There are no shipping fees, there’s no waiting for delivery, and all the furniture is printed fully assembled.
The 3-D printer can be preordered on Houzz, and begins rolling out nationwide today. Efficiently scaled at about the size of a small Airstream trailer, the printer can be stored in any cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
Note: This photo is not of a 3-D printer; it’s of an actual Airstream trailer.
We know you’ll love your HouzzPrintz furniture as much as we do.
