Spring is around the corner, and with it will come the urge to create, color and craft up a storm. Revive your craft corner, refresh your stash and get organized with these 20 finds from some of my favorite independent makers and suppliers. Happy spring and happy crafting! — Laura from Lolalina
Hook Baskets - EUR 8 Get Organized
These handmade, recycled-cotton bowls are the perfect size for bits of ribbon, spools of thread or a washi tape collection.
Stacking Wood Trays, Set of 3 - $128 These wooden trays look like they were pulled from a vintage desk. Stacked on a work surface, they can keep different types of papers, pens, buttons and other notions neatly sorted.
Storage Baskets, Set of 2 Like a cuter, tougher version of farmer’s market bushel baskets, these are just right for storing journals, notebooks and pens — or whatever else you need to store.
Liberty of London Bias Binding by Fabrique Romantique, 10 Yards - $24.50 Refresh Your Stash
If you love a good Liberty floral print, you’ll adore this selection of Liberty bias tape. Use it on your sewing projects or in place of ribbon as a finishing touch on gifts.
Vintage Twine, Bright Pink by Smile Mercantile - $9.50 Jute twine has to be one of the most versatile craft supplies out there. Use it to tie up gifts. Hang a line as an inspiration wire and clip art and magazine pages to it. Use a length as the base of a bunting. The list goes on. This vibrant strawberry hue is incredibly cheerful and perfect for spring projects.
Pink Notebook - EUR 4 For the writers and journal keepers out there, this notebook in bright pink begs to be filled up and taken everywhere.
Velvet Guest Journal - $57 Create your own album, scrapbook or art journal using one of these deliciously textured silk velvet journals. It will look just as brilliant blank and sitting on your shelf as it will when you’re done filling it.
Floral Japanese Washi Tapes, Little Garden Pattern by Pretty Tape, Set of 3 - $10 A trio of floral-print washi tapes for spring — because you can never have too much washi tape, right? Use these in your journal, on your inspiration board or as a decorative border around a picture frame.
Pikku Ribbons - $14 These hand-spun cotton ribbons come in the cheeriest colors and prints, and the wooden paddles they come on can be reused to keep your ribbon stash orderly.
Box of Gorgeous Ribbons - GBP 34 Speaking of ribbon, if you just can’t get enough pretty trimmings, try Cox & Cox’s boxed set. It includes 15 colors of beautiful ribbons with running stitch detailing. Use them for paper crafts, sewing projects or gift wrapping.
Your Own Motif Stamp, Poppy - GBP 16.50 A personalized stamp is a fun way to leave your mark on cards or in books. Have it made with your name or a single inspiring word.
Tea Light, Sold Separately - $32 Beautify Your Space
Give your creative spirit a boost by making your surroundings as inspiring as you want your art or crafts to be. I would start by setting a bunch of these little glass tea lights along my desk or on the window ledge.
Light Gesso Notice Board - GBP 45 A craft corner begs for something decorative and a bit artsy on the wall. This little framed inspiration board from Cox & Cox fits the bill nicely. The lovely floral-print fabric will set off any little snippets of inspiration you pin up, and the whole thing can be hung vertically or horizontally to fit your space.
Pink Ceramic Mug, Sold Separately - $24 Every crafter needs to have a mug of something hot near at all times, right? I have my eye on this Japanese ceramic mug from Alder & Co. It’s petite, cheerful, stackable and (most important) pink.
Pot Holder, Sold Separately - $28 This lovely hand-sewn mat is sold as a pot holder, but I would be tempted to use one as a chic little coaster instead. If you’re doing a project that is sensitive to liquids (like drawing or card making), it’s important to keep those little beads of water away from your work. So this is a better choice for a craft space than traditional hard coasters, as it will absorb any drips and spills.
Botanical Frame - $18 Looking for a simple spring project that will also beautify your craft space? Bring a pair of scissors on a walk and snip a few blooms. Bring them home and press them into this double-sided glass frame. And you’re done! It’s a fun and easy little project, and you’ll come away with a vibrant piece of art for your wall.
Apothecary’s Garden Wallpaper, Pale Cream This intricate Apothecary’s Garden wallpaper pattern from Trustworth Studios has a sort of Bloomsbury air that I just love. I imagine that hanging some in the craft corner would make you feel like you were working in the garden.
Polaroid Z2300 Instant Digital Camera Kit - $199 Try Something New
Budding photographer? Try experimenting with a new format, like this snappy little Polaroid instant digital camera. It’s small enough to slip into your pocket as you go about your day, and the instant gratification can’t be beat.
Sun Printing Kit, Cotton - $48 Like sun-print paper — but even better — this sun-print cotton kit from Terrain has everything you need to create your own original bunting, napkins or table runner. Simply take the photoreactive fabric outdoors and arrange items from nature on the fabric to create your print.
Four Seasons Embroidery Kit - $58 If you are itching to try a new craft, you can’t go wrong with an all-in-one kit. And you won’t find one prettier than this embroidery one from Purl Soho. It comes with everything you need (including instructions) to make four lovely, seasonal embroidered illustrations.
