One of my favorite home projects is creating terrariums that reflect the current season. I usually purchase some of the components and forage for others. Creating a miniature world of color and texture is a beautiful process, one that brings great satisfaction. Here are several ideas for creating a Zen-like work of art for your own living space. — Stephanie from Stephmodo
This terrarium is one of my all-time favorite creations. It’s very tranquil, and I love the mix of texture and color.
Glass Globe Hurricane - $30 These are simple, inexpensive starter vessels for a terrarium.
Cape Vase - $49.95 This vase has one of my favorite shapes for a terrarium. It would be lovely on a desk, as a centerpiece on a dining table or on the coffee table (if there aren’t kiddos in the home).
Geo Terrarium - $95 This geometric terrarium would be an ideal addition to a home with midcentury modern tones.
Roost Copenhagen Terrarium - $160 If you want your terrarium to really take center stage, one of these vessels from Roost is the perfect choice. It’s definitely spendier than others, but you can’t deny that it is gorgeous.
Mason Jar Vase - $69.95 This simple terrarium vessel is inspired by the classic mason jar. It’s ideal for a farmhouse-style home.
Hanging Glass Terrarium - $6.95 Love the idea of a terrarium in your home but are afraid of little hands exploring it? These hanging terrariums have your name written all over them. Purchase one or go for a bunch.
Terrarium Filler, Chocolate - $4 Don’t live near a beach? No worries; you can order sand online for a desert-themed terrarium.
Craspedia Bunch by Flores del Sol, Set of 25 - $18 A cheerful addition to a sand-based terrarium, these billy buttons are something special.
Air Plants by Bolo Om, Set of 5 - $15.99 Air plants are my favorite component for any terrarium. These exquisite plants are fairly low maintenance, making them ideal for those with black thumbs, like myself.
Terrarium Plant Collection, Low, Set of 6 - $42 Small, colorful plants with a hint of texture and pattern are the best for terrariums. This little set is ideal and can complete two or three terrariums.
Preserved Reindeer Moss - $10.77 Bright and luscious, this reindeer moss is a terrarium essential. A little goes a long way, thanks to its spongy texture and chartreuse hue.
Succulents - $22.50 Terrarium plants galore! This is truly your one-stop shop.
Hand-Carved White Porcelain Twig by Roberta Polfus - $42 White porcelain twigs look simply beautiful in a terrarium. Bonus: No care required.
Frosted Sea Glass - $6.95 Beautiful chunks of white sea glass would be especially pretty paired with the porcelain white twigs.
Mini Geodes by Bird and Feather, Set of 3 - $6 Add a beautiful geode to your terrarium if texture, color and earthy tones are on your wish list.
Sea Glass - $6.95 Living near a beach isn’t required to create a beach-inspired terrarium. Thankfully, you can buy sea glass online.
Holt Linen Metal Watering Can - GBP 16 Make watering fun by using this modern watering can. The neon orange handle gives an otherwise average gardening accessory a fresh take.
Ash Wood Garden Tools - $40 These are the prettiest planting tools I’ve seen!
