There’s nothing quite like a cozy fireplace topped by a beautifully decorated mantel in the wintertime. I love how a mantel can evolve throughout the year to reflect the mood or the season. And even when it’s not the focal point of a room, it can quickly become the highlight. Although mantels are usually decked out the most during the holidays, here are some ideas for keeping things looking festive and fun long after Christmas and New Year’s. — Alli from Hooray
Starlight Candleholder - $29 I’d love to do a small grouping of these above a mantel. I think it would adapt well to almost any season or holiday.
Mirror Tapestry, Landscape This tapestry, which is made up of hundreds of mirrored pieces of wood, would make an amazing twist on the usual mirror above the fireplace.
Vintage Brass Candlesticks by Ffogshop, Set of 3 - $24 Candlesticks are one of my go-to objects for the mantel, and these vintage ones would add so much charm.
Mary Maguire Chocolate Lab Watercolor - $998 A collection of art on a mantel is another favorite look of mine. I like how casual it appears, even if each piece is carefully selected.
Adra Vase - $39.95 I like the subtle pattern on this vase. It keeps things interesting but won’t distract from whatever is placed inside.
Gold Banded Holiday Tumbler, Red by Robert Siegel - $42 This little tumbler is perfect to help balance out taller vases and other pieces. Plus, I just love the bit of red!
Smith & Hawken Boxwood Wreath - $19.99 Not only do I love boxwood, but it makes for the perfect year-round wreath.
Birch Print, Blue Aurora - $149 Abstract art can be great for creating a layered look above the fireplace. It’s a nice backdrop for other mantel decorations.
Cross Flag by Secret Holiday & Co. - $50 I adore flags, and this one is so simple. It’s perfect for just about any space.
Twinkle String Lights - $9.95 Tiny twinkle lights are a great alternative to regular string lights, especially incorporated into decorations and centerpieces. Bonus: They can be found just about anywhere these days.
Mila Frame - $16.95 I like the unpolished look of this soapstone frame. It is truly a blank slate for the photo that fills it.
Tethys Natural Material Wall Mirror - $154.99 I love using mirrors to help reflect light around a room, and even better if they have an interesting shape or a unique frame like this pretty one does.
Premiär Picture, World Map - $129 I've been a fan of this wall map for years. It's simple but would make a big statement.
Mirror Cabinet Media Solution - $449 This cabinet is such a fantastic idea for people who want to hide their television behind the facade of a mirror.
Threshold Ceramic Penguin - $9.99 It’s partly because I’m a fan of all things penguin, but I think a little fleet of these would look adorable on a mantel all winter long.
Gilded Shadow Box - $68 Shadow boxes can be boring; I like the subtle but unique look of these gilded ones. They’re such a great way to group collections on a mantel.
Parson's Wall Mirror, Mother-of-Pearl - $299 I love the simple, beautiful detailing on this mirror. It’s a great piece for complementing other objects, or it could even be the focal point of the mantel display.
Brass Star Cutout Candleholders by The Retro Beehive, Set of 2 - $35 I have always been fond of these little starry votive holders. They look festive around the holidays and summery throughout the warmer months.
Antique Indian Patchwork Tapestry by Jaisalmer Handloom - $89 I’m in awe of this Indian patchwork wall hanging. It would truly be the focal point of a room.
Silverburst Vase, Large - $59 This is one of those pieces that just stand out. I’d love to see a pair of them shining on a mantel.
