Plaid is all the rage this year, and we love using plaids around the holidays. It’s always OK to mix and match, because the more patterns, the better! We used a full range of plaid pillows and throws to turn our solarium into a winter haven. With a mug of hot chocolate, some holiday tunes in the background and a warm and snuggly atmosphere, what could be cozier? Some people shy away from plaids, because they don’t want to spend a lot on a pattern that they see as seasonal or trendy, but we found 20 great products that will work for years to come or for just a season. Check them out! — Jordan and Janette from The 2 Seasons
Holiday Lane Christmas Tree Skirt, Plaid - $80 Lots of people create winter scenes under their Christmas trees. Wouldn’t a little northern village (think moose and sleighs) look adorable on this plaid background?
Victor Armchair, Plaid - $749 This West Elm chair is a masculine and quiet way to decorate with plaid. Its comfort and color should appeal to anyone who avoids loud colors.
Donegal Apartment Sofa, Midnight Presley - $1,999 The combination of midcentury lines and deep plaid fabric would make this sofa work in either a modern or traditional room.
Plaid and Teal Green Wes Dining Chair - $199.99 Isn't this World Market chair great? We can so see it in a woman's office. A plaid like this can work every month of the year.
Threshold Plaid Toss Pillow, Trout Stream - $24.99 You can always count on Target to have great selections of current trends at reasonable prices. This pillow can be teamed with pieces in black, gold or blue, and would work in a child’s room or a family room.
Ralph Lauren Macleod Logo Tartan Plaid Throw Blanket, Navy Green - $64 We love using blankets as tablecloths, and no one does plaid better than Ralph Lauren. He would spread this out on his table and top it with some antlers, a masculine lamp and a large blue and white transferware cachepot full of flowers, greenery and pinecones.
Eco-Wise Wool Plaid Easy-Care Blanket, Red/Black Check - $118 It’s easy to have an outdoor fire these days. Even if you don’t have a big stone fireplace, you can easily assemble a fire pit for those cooler evenings. Keep a basket of plaid blankets nearby if you need more than just the heat from the fire to keep you warm.
Cambridge Plaid Lampshade - $14.95 Sometimes plaids need to come in small doses. Add a trendy touch without spending a boatload of money by just changing a lampshade.
Tattersall Black/Ecru Woven Cotton Rug - $33 Another way to add a pop of plaid to a room without too much commitment is with a rug like this one from Dash and Albert.

Lauren Ralph Lauren Crystal Bowl, Glen Plaid, Large - $95 We don’t always need color when we want plaid. This plaid-patterned bowl is perfect for those times.
Duke Dessert Plate - $85 Here’s Ralph Lauren again — the man just knows how to do plaids. He nailed it perfectly when he designed these dishes. We would put them on top of twig chargers for a rustic and casual meal, and on top of silver chargers over a linen tablecloth when things need to be more serious.
Heritage Plaid Beverage Bottle Using a thermos for a hot drink instead of a Styrofoam cup is a throwback to the old days, but it’s still very modern, because you won’t be creating more waste for a landfill. We have a thermos just like this one and use it all the time.
Classic Tartan Plaid Tablecloth Can’t you just see your holiday dishes paired with this Williams-Sonoma tablecloth? The great thing is that any white dishes you already have will instantly take on a festive look.

Tartan MacPherson Mug - $13.99 We're thinking these mugs would be perfect to add to our sunroom-turned-winter-haven, and we love the fact that they can be monogrammed.
Light Switch Cover, Red Plaid by Modern Switch - $12 What a cute light switch! Here's another way for anyone who has a commitment phobia to add some plaid to a room.
Clover Green Plaid Mats - $40 Incorporating some plaid photo mats into your decor is another way to bring some plaid into your world without a major commitment of time or money. This fresh apple green fits the bill without emptying the wallet.
