Guest Picks: Round Out Your Room

I started noticing the way things are lined up in my living room a few months ago. Straight lines everywhere! A boxy sectional facing a rectangular television and console, plus a square coffee table and a rectangular rug. Before finding the square midcentury-style coffee table at a thrift store (it was too good to pass up), I'd been envisioning a round coffee table or rug to contrast with all of the edges in the room. For now I'm happy with how things look, but all of this has led me to consider ways to incorporate rounded shapes into spaces more frequently. They really do help to round things out! — Alli from Hooray
Tree Top Paint-by-Number Circle Art Block by Studio Liscious - $22 I think the creator's description of this, "like looking through a porthole," is so fitting. The round shape gives it a new perspective.
Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler Charlotte Round Pouf - $120 I love how a pouf can travel around a room and soften up all the furniture's hard lines. Plus, this one's pattern is subtle and fun.
Cut Circle Sheet Set, Pewter - $130 I'm all for polka dots, but this circle pattern is a nice grown-up twist.
Owen Steel End Table, Factory White - $195 I can picture this in the corner of my living room, rounding out the boxy couch and console.
Round Jute Rug - $125 I think the cutout pattern on this rug helps it look less traditional.
Design by Conran Pearl Accent Lamp - $175 Not only do I love the shape of this light, but the wood and glass pairing is very eye catching.
Stout Coffee Table A round coffee table is the perfect solution for a room with boxy furniture (like mine).
Montara Mirror - $295 It's no secret that I love all things rattan, but how could anyone not adore this mirror? It would perfectly balance a square vanity or complement a curvy one.
Round Woven Coffee Table - $399 I have an ottoman similar to this one, and I love both the shape and the texture it adds.
Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler Glass Globe Ceiling Light Fixture - $90 I will always be a fan of globe lamps. They look so sleek and provide a nice, soft glow.
Round Here Photo Frame, White - $39.99 I like this twist on the traditional multiphoto frame. The circular frame softens the look of all those rectangles.
Copper Round Tray - $179.95 This copper tray isn't cheap, but it's useful and has elegant appeal for entertaining.
Rattan Ball String Lights - $16.99 The texture of rattan makes these lights awesome for hanging on the front porch in the fall. They would look rustic and adorable alongside pumpkins and mums.
Feather Wreath, White - $19 I think a feather wreath can adapt to just about any season.
Brass Ring Table Lamp - $595 I like how this serves as both lamp and geometric sculpture.
Design by Conran Slate Wall Clock - $95 A clock may be another obvious way to add shapely interest, but I like how bold yet simple this slate one looks without numbers.
Diamond Cut Globe Vase - $48 It would be awesome to see this in fun colors. I like the texture and pattern, and the shape is great for visually breaking up lines on a console or shelf.
Rubik Round Coffee Table, Oak - $800 This is in the higher price range of coffee tables that I would consider, but I do like the modern and sleek look of the metal supporting the warmer wood top.
5-Inch Illuminated Star Globe by Stellanova - $29.95 Whether for kids or adults, this light-up star globe would be a nice accent piece on a square nightstand or among books on a shelf. I really do want one!
Around Table, Small, Oak - $449 Besides looking just plain cute, this little accent table is a good (albeit pricy) option for a small corner.
