Decorating for Halloween is always a struggle for me. I just don't like the standard decor options found at the big-box stores. I want something special. Luckily, this year skulls have become such a hot trend in decor and fashion. You can practically decorate the entire house inside and out with unique, well-designed items that just happen to fit Halloween perfectly! Here's a collection of some of my favorites. — Mari from Small for Big
Skull Plaque - $24 This is a very, very cool piece of Halloween art. I might even hang it up on a gallery wall all year long.
Skull Wreath by Cardboard Safari - $32 This is such an innovative approach to a wreath, to Halloween and to the use of skulls. How unusual!
Ceramic Skull Planter by Mudpuppy - $42 I'm a huge fan of things that I can use year-round; this planter is a perfect example. I'll keep it on my shelf, then move it to my Halloween display. Gorgeous.
Rest Your Head Pillow - $34.99 Seasonal pillows are such a quick — and comfy — way to add Halloween decorations to any room. I love how big this skull is too.
Antique Skeleton Key Collection by Daphne Bleu - $39.50 Ever since the time I dug through a bin of skeleton keys as a kid in a junk store, I've loved them so much. And it just hit me: You could display a great collection of them for Halloween!
Sweet Spirits Sugar Skull Cookie Cutters - $8.95 Double-duty cookie cutters? Sort of. Make your cookies for Halloween and then again for the Day of the Dead right afterward. I want my cookies to be the same bright colors as these cutters.
Truly Madly Deeply Stay Spooky Cropped Muscle Tee Don't want a full costume? I think this T-shirt might do the trick. (I might add a tank underneath to avoid showing the belly button.)
Giant Googly Eyes - $10 What belongs inside all of these skulls? A pair of huge eyes! These are simply hilarious, and I'm sure the kids would love them too.
Upcycled Fence Wood Skull by John Birdsong - $34 Finding Halloween decorations for my front step is hard — I have picky tastes, I guess. But this upcycled skull is so awesome! I think it'd be perfect.
Will’s Presentation Skulls Mug - $17.99 Fill this mug with coffee or fancy cocoa, and see how long it takes for your guest's eyes to pop out of his or her head.
Noggin Compares Container - $32.99 You have to store your candy corn somewhere, right? I think this guy is ready for the job.
Cookie Press, Toxic - AUD 6.95 Would your family eat your cookies even if they said "Toxic" on the top? Now is your chance to find out.
Skulls to Pay the Bills Bank - $14.99 This bank is so dang sleek that it would be perfect for a bachelor pad. But in the right collection of things on a shelf, it'd be gorgeous in my own home too.
Baking on the Brain Cupcake Molds - $12.99 OK, these cupcake holders just make me giggle — especially with that perfect brainy-looking pink frosting.
Halloween Skull Mug - $39.95 If Williams-Sonoma is in on it, you know skull mugs are worthy of even the most haute kitchens. I love the deep, rich color of this one, and it looks like it's from a pirate-movie set.
Feel the Libation Corkscrew - $29.99 I never would have thought I'd need a skull-shaped corkscrew, but this adorable buddy just changed my mind.
Skull Mug - $25.12 If you're planning a Halloween party, and planning on hot apple cider, how else would you drink it but out of a gorgeous white skull mug?
Skull-Shaped Beeswax Candle, Black by Peace Blossom Candles - $34.50 This has to be the most decadent skull-shaped candle I've ever seen. Doesn't it glisten like it's covered in little black jewels? Gorgeous.
Realistic Ceramic Human Skull by Mudpuppy - $75 Don't worry; this guy is ceramic, so you're not inviting someone's great-uncle Melvin into your home. Wouldn't it add a bit of a macabre Shakespearean feeling?
Doomed Crystal Skull Shotglass - $9.99 Make every drink a bone-chilling experience with these glasses. They're perfect for your fancy-pants liquors.
Mercury Glass Skull - $24.50 A gilded skull keeps things a little gloomy and doomy. If you're looking to do a glittery Halloween theme, I think this pal is for you.
