If I happen upon a good deal (or even a not-so-good deal) for anything kitchen, table or cooking related at a thrift store or antique shop, I almost always have to take it home with me. Because I live in a studio apartment, this habit can pose a problem when it comes to finding a home for all of my kitchen trinkets.
Another problem: I love to have everything handy and within reach at all times, which means that I need the perfect storage options. Here are a few of my favorites — some affordable, some not so affordable, some vintage, some vintage look-alikes, and some bright and modern. For me, it's all about mixing old with new to find the perfect balance. — Rebecca from A Daily Something
Primitive Country Plate Rack Kitchen Cupboard by Red Rooster Bed and Breakfast - $159.99 » This is such a great option for displaying my kitcheny treasures. It's even wide enough for baskets on top! I'll take the shelf and all the props, please.
Ladder Storage Basket - $69 » I love these baskets, and they'll add a great industrial touch to my rustic leanings. Besides kitchen-y tools and such, I'd use them for potatoes and onions and any other produce that doesn't need refrigeration.
Enclume Low Ceiling Rectangular Pot Racks - $490 » If I don't have room for pots and pans in my cabinets, why not hang them from the ceiling? I love this option from Williams-Sonoma; although, it is a bit pricey.
Grace Collection Satin Black Rectangle Pot Rack - $93.50 » Here's a more affordable pot hanger option from Lowe's. I might switch out the hooks for some of my own.
This kitchen is bright and cheery, filled to the brim and full of personality. Yet it doesn't feel cluttered or overwhelming. I love the metal wall shelving and textured rug!
Here's another view of this fabulous kitchen. I love the idea of hiding under-sink storage with some vintage linen fabric. And those hanging pots and pans — love!
Atlantic Metalworks WS-1224-E Stainless Steel Wall Shelf - $35 » I love the idea of metal wall shelving with some cozy kitchen details, like mugs, a teapot, water glasses, boxes of tea and coffee, and some crocks of utensils. It's the perfect industrial touch.
Primitive Antique-style Wooden Spoon Rack by Red Rooster Bed and Breakfast - $69.99 » Finally, I've found a place to adequately show off all my wooden spoons. And it hangs on the wall, which means more counter space.
Fintorp Dish Drainer - $14.99 » Because I'm low on counter space, I love the idea of a hanging dish drainer.
4-shelf Wooden Gavin Rolling Cart - $149.99 » This is one seriously affordable rolling shelf. I love that it can move from room to room if necessary.
What I like most about this kitchen is the cupboard space and the above-counter open shelf. Oh, and that sink!
Ekby Valter/Ekby Tryggve Wall Shelf - $14.99 » These shelves from Ikea would be a fantastic above-counter shelving option, and they're really affordable.
Vintage Industrial Wooden Crate, Sidney Cook by Epoch Co. - $27.52 » If you're renting (like me), then impermanent storage options are a must. This is an idea from my sister: Stack vintage crates or other wooden boxes on their sides to create a shelf. It'll hold anything and everything for the kitchen.
Brion Storage Cart » I'll take one of these for every room of my (future) house. Linens, dry goods, dishes — everything will look great in this storage cart. And there's a board on top for plants or anything else your heart desires.
Norden Sideboard, Black - $149 » Here's a modern option for counter space and shelving. I love the idea of filling the shelves with rustic and vintage kitchen supplies.
Norden Occasional table - $199 » I like the idea of adding impermanent counter space to my kitchen, and the shelving underneath this piece is perfect for wooden crates or wire baskets full of supplies that I want hidden.
Every eclectic kitchen needs space for hanging pots and pans, along with some metal storage baskets tucked here and there.
Gatto Cupboard - $5,034.35 » In my opinion, this is pretty much the perfect cupboard. Not too fancy, with industrial touches, beautiful wood and plenty of open and hidden storage. I just wish I could fit it in my current kitchen!
Catskill Kitchen Cube - $200 » This little cube is the perfect solution for those who are short on storage and workspace. It can also roll around, which will help make the most of limited space.
Bekväm Kitchen Cart - $59.99 » Here's another cube on wheels option, and it's really affordable! It's perfect for the kitchen assistant who's helping to chop veggies.
Hyllis Shelving Unit - $14.99 » There are lots of options for a pantry, and I love this galvanized shelf from Ikea. I definitely need more industrial elements in this kitchen of mine to balance out the rustic ones. It's great not only for food, but also for my larger vintage kitchen pieces.
Twig Country Kitchen Cabinet - $349.99 » My grandma had an antique cabinet almost identical to this one, so of course, I need it. I'd use it as a pantry (unless I have the walk-in pantry of my dreams).
Helmer Drawer Unit on Casters, Silver Color - $39.99 » This is a great and unexpected option for storing my collection of linens and special silverware and serving utensils.
Rationell Flatware Tray Basic Unit - $12.99 » These are perfect for organizing all of my flatware and serving utensils. I'll take about 15 of them.
Vintage Southwestern Basket by Ethan Ollie » In the event that I don't have room for a cabinet reserved for linens, I'd be content storing them in this vintage Southwestern basket. It'd also work well for holding fruit — although, when my fruit is out on the counter, I eat it in approximately five seconds.
