Safety and ease of maintenance are huge concerns for the aging homeowner. This pivoting shower door has patterned glass instead of clear which makes cleaning easier and hides toiletries from view. The curbless shower is excellent for wheeled traffic and eliminates nooks and crannies where dirt can hide. Semi-gloss paint wipes clean and helps prevent the growth of mold and mildew. Darker grout with white tile requires less elbow grease and defines the tile pattern nicely.
Falls are prevented by placing 2”x 2” floor tiles on the shower floor for a better slip coefficient. Obstacles are eliminated by placing toiletries in recessed niches and laundry/trash in pull-out bins. The shower door swings out to assist a fallen person, while a handheld shower on a slider/grab bar prevents falling in the first place.
