Like most Chicago “city” bathrooms, they are small – you have to make the most of the space available. This client did just that. The client wanted a clean “European” feel to the bathroom, chose concrete for the countertop material, handmade and painted (Pistachio) 3x6 subway tiles for the walls, and espresso stained walnut for the built-ins. For a small bathroom, the look is just spectacular. The toilet is hidden by a walnut pocket door separating the “water closet” from the general bathroom area. The tub was removed and an open rain-shower put in its place. There is no curb to step over into the shower as we used a linear drain at the shower opening. All-in-all, a great collaboration with the client, design team, and construction team. Nice job all! Photo credit: Design Build 4U
