master bath - modern - bathroom - minneapolis
Having recently purchased their riverfront townhome, this couple missed their previous his and hers bathrooms. Having been the designer of the previous bathrooms, I was engaged to take the large single-room master bathroom and create the independent spaces the clients desired. Her bathroom includes a tub carved out of a solid block of resin and filled from the ceiling, not to mention the glass-tiled shower with electronic controls. His bathroom includes a very generous walk-in shower and a TV within the mirror over the vanity. Both baths utilized Lyptus, a rapidly renewable wood resource, in a rich dark finish for the vanities, which was also used for a long console in the vestibule connecting the two baths and large master closet. Aside from the glass tile, stone tile covers the floors throughout, which is complemented by the elegant white 4” thick Corian counters that together set off the dark wood. The end result, though nearly identical in materials, allows for independent expression of the two clients’ personalities and requirements.
