In the living room, against the lacquered yellow walls, Robin mounted pink silk pagoda valances. “I love that Oriental feel,” she says, “and they keep the window treatments in a traditional room looking fresh and fun, not stuffy and predictable.” Against the yellow and pink color scheme, the cobalt-blue hanging lantern provides an unexpected flash of color. For the holidays, the fireplace is an ideal place to drape fresh greens (and so is the large round mirror over the mantel).
